Champion’s Job Responsibilities:

Group Talent Acquisition Manager for Granite’s Heavy Civil Group (HCG) across the country. HCG specializes in P3, Design-Build, CMAR, Bid-Build Methods for transportation, transit & rail, airport infrastructure, bridges/structures, power, water, wastewater market, with public and private clients with project range from $75 million and up. Recruit top construction talent for our company.

Why Baires was nominated for the Veteran Champions of the Year in Corporate America Award:

I work out of my scope and daily responsibilities, and work longer hours to fulfill my passion for hiring and retaining more veterans in the company. I am one of the founding members of our military ERG that we created and launched on Veteran’s Day last year and I have created a military/veteran hiring and retention strategy from scratch for the company. Within my strategy, I have attended military careers fairs, helped increase our numbers for self-identified veterans, sent SWAG boxes to all self-identified veterans in the company, hosted quarterly Military ERG meetings with the other ERG leaders, implemented the SkillBridge program company wide, gained strategic military/veteran partnerships, worked with a team to create and provide content for our intranet (Insiders) with resources and events for veterans, family of veterans and managers that want to understand veterans more, and worked with our marketing team to have a veteran theme week, the week of Veteran’s Day, sharing pictures, articles, and testimonies.
