Veteran Champion of the Year 2022: Bernie Stone

Bernie Stone is the Entrepreneur Ambassador at Bunker Labs Des Moines. He was a Lieutenant Colonel (O-5) in the Army, 1995-2015.

Ambassadors serve as guides and connectors in their communities, helping veteran and military spouse entrepreneurs and small business owners find success through Bunker Labs programs such as Veterans in Residence.

Why Stone was nominated for the Veteran Champions of the Year in Corporate America Award:

Bernie Stone is a champion for veteran and military-connected issues in Central Iowa. He advocates for veteran mental health through board service with Polk County Health Services. He guides veteran entrepreneurs towards successful business creation as the founding Ambassador for Bunker Labs Des Moines. He mentors veterans via organizations such as Veterati, FedTech, Army SBIR, and xTech. He serves on three different committees with his local Chamber of Commerce and has been named Connector of the Year twice. He is a member of the Iowa Advisory Committee for the United States Global Leadership Coalition. He also Mentors for SCORE and Techstars local Iowa chapter. All while also running his own two businesses. Mr. Stone is a consummate example of continuing to serve his community after service to the nation.
