The Marines announced that for the first time since opening all military occupational specialties to women in 2016, a female infantry officer candidate has completed the infantry officer course. 131 Marines began the course in July and 88 graduated.
The 13 week course is infamously grueling, and aims to train infantry and ground intelligence officer candidates in leadership, infantry skills and character required to be a platoon leader.
