What Do You Do?

I’m in charge of nine members of the loss prevention team, including monitoring external and internal theft, monitoring shipments, investigating shortages and other duties.

What’s the coolest thing about your job?

I love catching people stealing from my store and stopping the theft. That helps the store and that is the bottom line.

What’s the biggest challenge?

Getting people to do things without yelling at them or making them do push-ups when they don’t listen, like we did in the military. You have to be patient with your co-workers – these are not the discipline standards of the military.

Best advice?

Be ready to separate – start looking for a job early and get your résumé ready. I was surprised here just weren’t any jobs out there when I got out.
