If you saw the Super Bowl this year, one advertisement is worth remembering in the veteran community. Google’s Super Bowl Commercial showed the functionality of the military MOS (military occupational specialty) job search. But how does this function really work?

Step by Step Functionality

The Google search engine is simple to use. When searching in Google, start with “Jobs for veterans” followed by the MOS of your choosing. The example below provides an idea of the salary range, job type and job title associated with that MOS. More companies have been leaning on our veterans in the workplace. With high attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn, veterans make great employees. Picking up on management traits is one thing this new search method can assist with. An NCO or Officer can search for management areas that may fit their experience levels. The example below shows one of the possibilities for a Special Forces Engineer Sergeant, or 18C:
