Brian Armstrong

Brian Armstrong is a Marine Corps Veteran who transitioned out of the service in 2015. Since his transition, Brian has worked within the talent acquisition field as leader in advocating for military talent. His career has focused on developing and growing programs for the recruitment and retention of Transitioning Service Members, Veterans, Members of the National Guard and Reserves, as well as those within the Military Spouse community at organizations like Hilton and Charter Communications. 

Today, Brian is the Head of Military Recruitment at Wells Fargo. He leads a team of talent professionals across the United States, focusing on attracting and advocating for Military Talent in various roles throughout the firm. With a firsthand understanding of military transition challenges and underemployment, Brian drives a focus of making the right hires for both the business and the individual to establish a path for long-term success.

In his spare time, Brian enjoys camping in the mountains of North Carolina as well as international travel. His current top book recommendations: Call Sign Chaos by Gen Jim Mattis, You are Worth It by MOH Recipient Kyle Carpenter and Managing Your Habits for Success by Army Veteran Danny Zelaya.

Matt Disher

Matt Disher leads Cushman & Wakefield’s nationally recognized (Top 10) Military & Veterans Programs that include veteran talent attraction, execution of DoD Skillbridge programs and advisory to internal and external leaders and clients. Cushman & Wakefield is a global leader in Commercial Real Estate Services, managing around 5B square feet of property globally. Matt is also the Chairman Emeritus of the firm’s Veteran Employee Resource Group.  

Matt’s career has largely focused on creating corporate military programs, client relations and program leadership. Prior to Matt’s civilian career, he served as a combat engineer in the Marine Corps. Matt’s military experience and difficulty in transition to civilian life is a motivating factor leading to the work he does now.

Leading to Matt’s tenure at Cushman & Wakefield, he served in varying roles leading, advising and creating programs and offerings focused around business and talent. 

Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Northern Kentucky University.

Alec Mizner

Alec is responsible for building and enhancing relationships with military base career resource centers and veteran service organizations to help prepare Veterans for the next step in their professional career. This includes strategic planning and allocation of resources to highlight the opportunities at Werner. Alec oversees the nationwide recruiting of Active Duty, Guard, Reserve and Veteran men and women interested in driving for the best trucking company in the country. He is a veteran of the US Marine Corps, having separated in 2013 as a sergeant.
