2016 Hot Jobs, Cool Degrees

Air Force Staff Sgt Deneious Moye

Air Force veteran Denerius Moye is living the dream.

As the property operations manager at the Boca Raton Resort and Club, a Waldorf Astoria Resort in Boca Raton, Fla., Moye relies on the knowledge he gained from his associate degree in mechanical and electrical engineering to keep things running smoothly at this upscale resort in south Florida.

“I utilize my associate degree every day in numerous tasks ranging from resetting a circuit breaker to a significant task of overseeing the proper installation of industrial grade HVAC and electrical equipment,” Moye says.

His degree helped Moye, 26, land an interview with Hilton Worldwide – which owns the resort – even while he was driving cross-country from Minot AFB. From there, his dazzling personality took over.

“It took me no more than 20 seconds to recognize the passion DJ has and see his radiant personality,” says Kurt Graham, director of property operations at the resort, knowing his colleague had already checked out Moye’s job history. “The fact that he is an Air Force veteran was an absolute bonus and something I am sure shaped his personality.”

It could require a four-year degree, a cert or a license. The 2016 Hot Degrees for Veterans provides a snapshot of the hottest degrees, certifications and licenses, along with the Hot Jobs they lead to. We even list some of the Military Friendly® Schools that offer these programs.
