Veterans Day is a time to honor those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. To show appreciation, many chain restaurants give out freebies to vets — a practice much desired by vets of all ages.

1. Primanti Brothers
Yinzers, rejoice! From 4 p.m. to close, vets can get a free Primanti’s sandwich, with no additional purchase necessary. A sandwich with french fries on it? This legendary Pittsburgh shop will treat you right.
2. Starbucks
Starbucks is well-known for their veteran outreach. On Veterans Day, stop in to get a free tall hot brewed coffee at your nearest Bux. Military spouses are also eligible!
3. Panera Bread
Get a free “You-Pick-Two” from Panera Bread.
4. Applebee’s
Participating Applebee’s restaurants have been showing their appreciation for the U.S. military since 2007 by offering freebies. The restaurant even has a specific menu for Veterans Day, so you can choose one of your favorite meals and eat for free!
5. Bob Evans
Grab yourself one of the five items offered free by Bob Evans, including Sunrise, brioche french toast, The Mini Sampler, Country Biscuit Breakfast and hotcakes.
6. Denny’s
You know and love the Grand Slam, right? Get it for free on Wednesday! There’s a reason the Grand Slam is the main picture on this article — it’s the perfect breakfast.
7. IHOP
IHOP is offering free red, white and blue pancakes to veterans — a patriotic meal that’s as delicious as it is an American classic.
8. Golden Corral
Golden Corral is offering a free “Thank You” meal, including drink.
9. Texas Roadhouse
Stop into your nearest Texas Roadhouse for a free lunch pick from the restaurant’s special veterans menu, including a 6-ounce Sirloin Steak, BBQ Chicken Sandwich, Pulled Pork Sandwich and more.
10. T.G.I. Friday’s
A crowd favorite, T.G.I. Friday’s is offering veterans free lunch at participating locations from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
12. On the Border
On the Border is a Mexican grill and cantina (translation = cool bar). Get a free “Create Your Own Combo” meal with over 150 possible meal combinations.
13. Shoney’s.
Get yourself a free “All-American Burger” from Shoney’s. According to CEO David Davoudpour, “It’s the best burger on the planet named after the greatest country on earth.” No disagreement there…
