6. Missouri
Another state with a great variety of universities to choose from, both public and private.
On the public side, there’s the University of Missouri and the Missouri University of Science and Technology (for the technically oriented). On the private side, there’s Maryville University of St. Louis and St. Louis University. An extra bonus is that St. Louis is also one of the top 10 places for veterans.
